Here is where work stopped until I return to my studio in August.

That's when the beach grass layer will be added to the base layer of sand in the bottom row of panels.

I'm pleased with the wave action.
The kind of day I thought I wanted to present, the idyllic summer one with a storm brewing on the horizon, has changed.  All those waves are present from a storm that has passed AND there's another brewing on the horizon.  It's become the break between.  Just like what we've been experiencing weatherwise ... just what life can be.

  2. You've caught the colors of the water so perfectly...esp. on the horizon line with the next weather coming in.
I can feel it and smell the air, Nellie. This is your masterpiece...

  4. My goodness Nellie, you've been working hard. Those waves are looking so realistic and the finished piece will be as wonderful as the Prairie Flowers.

  8. It's stunning. LOVE the close up...and the waves rippling closer to shore are wonderful. You must really have to plan well and foresee in your mind in order to do the entire quilt in sections. Amazing!
