"Flitty" flits about in the United Kingdom. Go
here to read more about him. I like his fancy headdress and tail feathers.

There are wonderful "tweets", birds made of wool fabric with fancy fabric wings, made by Jackie in the United Kingdom as well.

Make a trip to her blog,
Dog Daisy, to check out more of them. They are real characters!
I didn't realize that your birds were migratory. Lol. Maybe some will soon turn up here in Canada now that spring is around the corner. I'll let you know if they do! I am about ready to start a new project. Why not birds?
ReplyDeleteJoyce,
ReplyDeleteIt would be fun to see birds join Arlee's funky bird to make a flock in Canada.
There should be birds forming flocks all over the world since there have been over 8,000 views and over 900 of those viewers have downloaded the pattern ;-)
Thank you so much, Nellie. I was looking at stat counter and this came up so I popped in.
ReplyDeleteIts lovely to have a link to this with your much more complex birds. I am glad some are in the UK.
I didn't realise you had a pattern available.
Thankyou so much for your lovely comments Nellie - it is a wonderful pattern so thankyou so much for sharing. I am thrilled to see my bird on your blog x
ReplyDeleteI say thank you for your kind words of appreciation.I like your wonderful artwork very much.Marika
ReplyDeleteMermaid Purse reply to my inquiry about the blue legs on her bird:
ReplyDeleteI used 18# paper covered cake decorating wire, covered with acrylic paint and free machine zig zag/satin stitch. The wire is actually too rigid to attach the feet to the legs successfully but it was what I had to hand. 24# would be much to thin to hold the weight of the bird but I have ordered some 20# so am going to try another one with that.
These british birds are absolutely gorgeous!
