Nellie-Those studies look like California Impressionist paintings that I have seen (I have a book on the subject). Lots of them highlight purple and orange flowers (something and poppies) along with the green hills that we get during the winter and spring.
Exquisite! I can imagine running through that field of flowers on a warm summer day. The purple coneflowers are one of my favorites. Beautiful work. Pat
