ArtPrize 2011 Entry
Once again, I'm pleased to announce that I'm an ArtPrize artist and this is my entry ...
"Imelda's Dream II" - 70"x 70"
Some of you may recognize it. The purses give it a new life for its debut in the ArtPrize exhibition. It had been rolled up in storage waiting for a home in a health care setting as a distraction for women waiting for "procedures." That had not happened, so it will once again see the light of day come September 21st. I hope the audience of ArtPrize goers will find it as appealing as do my cyber friends who have left comments on the posts leading up to this reveal.
ArtPrize is a world-wide art exhibition that takes place September 21 thru October 9th. This year's show features 1,582 artists from 36 countries and 43 states who will show their work in 164 venues within three-square miles of downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan. The venue where my entry can be seen is the DeVos Place Convention Center ... the same venue that featured "The Lake" in last years show.

Ah! so that's what this is all about! Good Luck with it Nellie - it is sure to create lots of interest and makes a very original composition with the addition of the purses.
YEA! This is a fun quilt and so good that it will be in a venue that gets such media and traffic!!
I am happy you will be in the same venue for this piece-beautiful and sure to create lots of interest among the crowds that will see it. I would like one of each pair please.
And now you have a great way to spend your summer. Win ,win on all accounts Miss Nellie! Congrats on finishing it.
What a wonderful quilt! Lots of stuff to keep your eyes busy!
Love seeing the shoes again, and the purses are a wonderful addition!
I'm so glad to hear about this. You had been so quiet about Art Prize, and I wondered what was happening. This piece is such a fun change of pace!
This is GREAT! My daughter, the shoe addict, is NUTS about this!
Love this one, and I'm thrilled for you being invited to Art Prize again! Those purses add a wonderful touch to the quilt- it looks dimensional even online. Congrats, Nellie!!
Great piece with the addition of the purses!
Congratulations on your quilt and exhibition. I have been sharing these posts with my daughter and she insists this quilt is Sarah's Dream', not Immelda's!:)
All the best.

My sister lives 30 minutes north of Grand Rapids ...
What a delight! Each block is a "stand" alone piece of art!
Wow - I would love to look at that whilst waiting for a procedure ....... esp. the dentist! It's really lovely!
I too was wondering about Art Prize this year. I should have guessed this was going to play a part.
I love the addition of purses! It would keep me busy looking at it.
