Rocky Mountain Flowers
Here are photos of some of the flowers that I promised more than a week ago.
The wild white poppy flowers surprise me.
There are different kinds of yellow blossoms everywhere ...
I don't understand how these flowers can grow and thrive in seemingly arid soil and rocks.
The yellow ones above and the purple flowers below grow among the rocks along the Big Thompson River that flows past the cabin we rent. It was a joy to watch them blossom and develop over the two weeks we were there.
And, of course, the Paint Brush flowers are profuse in the higher elevations.

beautiful flowers! Different than the prairie flowers but beautiful as well.
Love wildflowers.
Such lovely flowers Nellie. The wild roses are very similar to ours but I have only seen flowers like the yellow daisies in gardens here in the UK. The yellow and purple ones growing by the water are similar to ones we have and I love the yellow pea-like flowers. The Rockies in summer must be so beautiful.
These are beautiful! I love how different the high country flowers are from "the usual".
Love the flowers by the rock and the river. A lot of inspiration here!
God's great work! Love seeing all the flowers! Looks beautiful through your eye. Hope you are having a good end to the summer! Take care.
Thanks for the beautiful picture which I've looked at a few times -- I get an olefactory hallucination that I can smell that first pink rose == lovely experience.
