Group Quilt Contest

Once again I've entered one of the weekly contests sponsored by the Quilting Gallery. The theme for this one features group quilts. My submission is this quilt made up of blocks featuring "flowers in a container" created by Smoky Mountain Quilt Guild members of Thursday Bee back in 2005.

 Psycho Deco Fleurs - 32"x 41"

The sashing and border fabrics give an art deco influence to the piece. "Silk" flowers are attached by their embroidered centers to border patterns, while old buttons from my collection secure the origami folded flowers to the center block.

The piece is heavily machine quilted with designs unique to the pattern of the block and its background fabric.

I'm distressed to say this quilt was stolen from the Cliff Dwellers gallery in Gatlinberg, Tennessee.

Nellie
I am so sorry to learn that someone allowed their greed to possess them to steal your quilt,
Here's hoping it gets returned to you safely and soonest.

It is horrible to think that someone would steal a piece of work, but in a strange way I suppose it could be seen as the ultimate compliment. This is such a happy quilt and I would be heartbroken if I had lost it. I'm not sure if I hope it brings happiness to the thief - I rather think not.

Hi Nellie! Sorry that it was taken! I will make another block for you if you want! Put a curse on the quilt so they have bad luck until they return it!!! Patty

Did you know that a site exists to register lost quilts, stolen quilts etc?
I cannot remember it, but it could be just lostquilts.com.
Sooo sorry to hear of the quilt stolen.
